What a beautiful dream/ That could flash on the screen/ In a blink of an eye and be gone from me

Home for Labor Day weekend I was. Miserable with a cold I was also. Finished my psych class, but wasn't even allowed a sigh of relief because on the day I finished I recieved this lovely letter telling me that COD had dropped my graduation request, because I didn't have everything finished by the end of summer 2005. So now I'm worried that they don't even change Incomplete grades, and that I'll end up getting no credit for those classes!  So far no one at ISU has brought up the fact that I'm a freaking sophmore with no assosciates degree...so I'm just gonna ride it out...I swear: home is more stressful than school.

Other than that fun stuff, I took my sister swimming, went to see "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" with the ladies of my family (and thoroughly enjoyed it), went to church (Huzzah!), went to the Taste of Melrose for some awesome food, and then...The Haircut!  For once in my life, I love my hair.  Finally someone knew what I meant by "angled bob"!  I can wear it stick straight, curly, flipped out or curled under - so many options!  Plus I have a sweet bleached streak on the right side, which I may or may not dye purple with the Manic Panic I bought.  And did I mention I am in love with my new straightening iron?! I can actually reproduce what the stylist did Monday, it's amazing.

Then there was this whole deal with me getting a ride back Monday, because apparently my phone is on the fritz and I thought niether Steve nor Hannah was calling me - although they both were - frantically. But I got back. Even more drama when I did though - went with Hannah to drop her car back off in the lot, and then had to WALK BACK.  Her lot is a couple miles away from campus by the lousy interstate!  Apparently the buses don't run on Labor day, which is utterly rediculous because what do they think - that students don't go home for the long weekend?! It's only when they do most!  But if you park in the lot by our dorm without the right pass, you get a 15 dollar ticket - even if you park between two large vans (so as to hide)...as Steve and I figured out last Thursday night while getting back at 3am after the concert.

Oh yeah, went to see Of Montreal last Thursday in Champagne. It was fun, except that you wouldn't believe the opening band even if I told you about them - they were so bizarre. They were called 'The Management', and it was just these 2 guys, a recorded 80's sounding track playing the backround, and them hitting a single drum randomly during the songs. Does that even count as a band?! The funniest part of the evening came when the one guy from The Management said "this is a really positive experience" and Steve said "FOR WHO?!" I couldn't stop laughing.  The band before that in the tiny room was good though, they had no lyrics, but they were good and called 'Process of a Still Life'. I thought they should have been named 'The Silent Treatment'...

A picture of me with The Haircut (you can sorta see) and Steve - with our awesome 'Of Montreal' concert tees on...

Ooo - Look who's all technology savvy now! :) I guess all it took was a better computer.
